Come and enjoy the wonderful satisfaction of gardening at the brand new LinkAble allotment.
Therapeutic horticulture is the use of gardening and plant-based activities to support people’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. It can provide a calm, structured environment that helps people with a learning disability and autistic people feel more relaxed and focused.
Activities such as planting, watering, and caring for plants encourage sensory engagement, improve fine motor skills, and support routine and independence. Gardening can also boost confidence and wellbeing by giving people a sense of achievement and a connection with nature, while offering a relaxed opportunity for socialising and friendship.
Being outside in the fresh air, digging, weeding, and stretching muscles also brings real physical benefits — building strength, improving fitness, and supporting overall health.
But in true LinkAble style, the most important factor is that it’s extremely enjoyable!

Could you help?
We're looking for local volunteers to support our allotment sessions — whether that's helping out in a session, watering plants between visits, or offering general support. If you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch here.
This project would not be possible without the support of our partners, Krinkels UK and Metropolitan Housing.
Thank you.
