Gardening and woodwork offers a relaxed way to spend time outdoors, learn new skills and make friends.

No experience is needed at these inclusive sessions; our friendly team will support you every step of the way.

Set within our accessible allotment, this session includes:

  • Accessible raised beds for easy planting and growing
  • A sheltered seating area for socialising and relaxation
  • Watering systems to help care for plants
  • A composting area where members can learn about sustainability
  • On-site portaloo facilities

Alongside growing fruits, vegetables and flowers, attendees can design and build practical woodwork projects such as bird boxes, planters and bug hotels. You will learn how to measure, cut, sand and assemble. It's lots of fun!

A wellbeing boost

The session is brilliant for wellbeing. Time outdoors and hands-on tasks can help reduce anxiety, improve mood, boost confidence and bring a real sense of calm and achievement.

Whether it's watching something you've planted grow, or standing back to admire a finished woodwork project, there's great satisfaction in creating something with your own hands.
