CEO Blog April/May | LinkAble

It is good to see the sun shining and to see LinkAble’s garden coming to life.  We are very grateful to our volunteer gardener Julian who visits us every two weeks and works wonders in a short space of time.  We were also fortunate to have the Customer Experience Team (Pictured) from Surrey County Council with us for a volunteering day recently who also made a huge impact on the garden.  If you have ever thought of volunteering for LinkAble then do get in contact with us – we have a huge range of volunteering opportunities available, some which would be an ongoing weekly or monthly commitment and others which could be for a day or even a few hours, we hope to hear from you soon.

We received some very exciting news towards the end of April and we are now able to share it with you.  LinkAble has been chosen as The Mayor’s charityThe Mayor’s charity Our new Chair of Trustees Colin Evans and I attended Woking’s Mayor Making Ceremony on Thursday 19th May.  We are grateful to the incoming Mayor, Councillor Saj Hussain for selecting LinkAble and we are very excited about the year ahead and the opportunities it will bring for the charity.  We know there will be some exciting events during the year where we will be promoting LinkAble and raising funds for the charity with the support of The Mayor.  There will be opportunities to support LinkAble by volunteering at these events, if you would like to be involved then do get in touch!

On Sunday 29th of May Johnathon George the parent of Imi George is taking part in Ride London to fundraise for us.  We know he has been training hard and we hope he has a great day.  The event is a 100 mile cycle ride out of London from the Olympic Park, through Essex and back again. Finishing on Tower Bridge.  If you have not already taken the opportunity to sponsor him you can do so here.

As ever we welcome comments and suggestions from our service users and supporters so if there is anything you would like to share with us do get in touch.

Take care.

Alison
