Disability awareness week | LinkAble

This year, Learning Disability Week (18-24 June) was a great opportunity to get our message out there, let the Woking community know all the hard work that link puts in, and give us the chance to educate some of its younger members about learning disabilities and what it is like having to deal with them on a day to day basis.

Throughout the week our staff, service users, friends and family have been saying why they love LinkAble, the number of people and the kind comments that have been said are fantastic, it is great to know the hard work we have put in pays off.

Our keep fit Wednesday group was held in Woking town square to show members of the public the kind of thing that we are doing, great work guys.

We went to Hoebridge and Horsell schools to run a few sessions on what life is like living with a learning disability, they all seemed to enjoy the activities and by the end realised just how difficult it could be trying to live with a disability.

On the 27th we had a great cake day, we were invited to do a cake sale at CapGemini in Woking, the day was a success and we raised over £190 with all of our tasty treats. Not to mention raising awareness of Link and some of the things we are involved in.
