How fantastic to welcome over 130 people to Woking Sportsbox for our third annual Inclusive Games — a brilliant day of accessible sport, friendship and fun.

From cyclists beaming as they sped around the race course, to focused Boccia games and walking football matches that had everyone cheering, the day gave people of all ages the chance to try something new, at their own pace. 

We've had so much brilliant feedback from attendees, like: 

"We had a fun day and the person I support loved the medal he got at the end!" 
 "Fun and inclusive and get to see friends too."
"Great atmosphere with lots of friendly support. Loads of fun events. Very inclusive and accessible."

We put this event on to give local people with additional needs the opportunity to play accessible sports. From adapted cycling, Boccia, and Walking Football to our new sports — adapted rounders and table tennis. Everyone was able to take part, and we hope they will feel more confident to play these sports again in the future.

A team effort

None of this happens without support from our community. A huge thank you to event partner Everyone Active, and volunteers from Wheels for All, Active Surrey, Surrey FA and The Fidelis Partnership. We were also delighted to welcome MP Will Forster and the Mayor of Woking, Cllr Rob Leach, on the day.

Jay Jones, Contract Health Activity & Wellbeing Manager at Everyone Active, said: 

"Seeing so many adults and young people with disabilities and additional needs come together to enjoy a day of sport and activity at the third edition of the LinkAble Inclusive Games was truly inspiring. As the lead partner, we were proud to work alongside LinkAble to bring the event together at Woking Sportsbox."

Philippa Curphey, Regional Manager for London & South at Wheels for All, said: 

"We were absolutely blown away by the incredible attendance at LinkAble Inclusive Games. With almost 100 people trying our Wheels for All cycles for the very first time, it was fantastic to see so many people of all ages and abilities having the opportunity to try a new activity."

LinkAble's corporate partner, The Fidelis Partnership, has supported the Inclusive Games for three years running, with staff volunteering on the day. Simon Crone, Group Director of Underwriting Operations, told us: 

"The LinkAble Inclusive Games is a fantastic event that brings people together through sport, community, and fun. It was wonderful to see so many people taking part, trying new activities and enjoying the opportunity to get involved. It was a privilege to be part of such a positive event and to see first-hand the impact the charity has on the people it supports."

Thank you to everyone who came along, tried something new, volunteered, or cheered from the sidelines. We're already looking forward to Inclusive Games 2027!
