The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2025 kicks off on Tuesday, 2 December at midday – please put the date in your diary!
Our target this year is £10,000, which will become an incredible £20,000 through Big Give match funding! Every penny raised will help us keep supporting over 300 local families who rely on LinkAble.
Why we are raising money
People with a learning disability and autistic people face significant barriers, including limited access to education and employment, social isolation and stigma.
- Only 5.1% of people with a learning disability are employed (NHS Digital, 2021)
- 1 in 3 report loneliness (Mencap, 2022)
- Autistic people are 4 times more likely to feel lonely (Swansea University & Brighton and Sussex Medical School, 2023).
This reduced access to community life has a devastating effect on wellbeing and increases burnout among parents and carers who are unable to take a break.
What your support can do
You will help reduce isolation for people with additional needs by offering accessible activities that build skills, confidence and meaningful friendships.
Through social groups, creative sessions, fitness classes, and life skills workshops, people we support can connect and learn in a safe and supportive space. Our services strengthen family life by giving exhausted parents and carers vital breaks to rest and focus on the rest of their family.
Your support through The Big Give:
- £6 becomes £12: Helps us create a calm, comforting space filled with sensory toys, offering comfort and reassurance to children when things feel overwhelming.
- £14 becomes £28: Invests in specialist training for our staff, giving them the skills and confidence to support people with a wide range of complex needs.
- £37.50 becomes £75: Keeps our minibuses on the road, opening the door to supported days out and unforgettable memories for children, young people, and adults all year round.
