It's time to get excited for our brand-new Swimming and Lego group!

Launching on Tuesday, April 14th, this new group for adults with additional needs is a brilliant combination of two activities that are as good for your wellbeing as they are for having fun!

Why swimming?

Swimming is a gentle and highly enjoyable way to support wellbeing. For adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, the benefits go beyond just physical fitness. The feeling of water can be deeply calming and regulating, helping to reduce anxiety and improve mood.

Regular swimming also supports cardiovascular health, builds strength, and encourages better sleep. And of course, it is a brilliant way to socialise and have a good splash about with friends!

Why Lego?

Lego is far more than just a toy. Building with Lego supports concentration, problem-solving, and fine motor skills. It also encourages creativity and self-expression in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.

Working on group builds and team challenges adds a social dimension, helping to build communication skills and confidence alongside some seriously impressive creations!

What to expect

The group will meet on Tuesdays (during term time) from 11:30am to 4:30pm, starting with a drink and catch-up outside Pool in the Park before joining the Woking Dolphins for a swimming session. After lunch at the cafĂ©, the group will head to Woking Leisure Centre for Lego building challenges, collaborative projects, and team games.

Attendees are welcome to join for the full day or just one of the individual sessions.
