Richard | LinkAble

Richard volunteers at LinkAble as a trustee.

Richard says, "Just over 2 years ago I started looking for opportunities that would allow me to use the skills and experience I've gained professionally to help others and give something back to the community.  Having previously lost our daughter shortly after she was born with Downs Syndrome, a charity that supports those with learning disabilities felt like a perfect fit and, once I'd met some of the LinkAble staff and trustees and seen some of the work that they do it was obvious to me that the charity makes a huge difference to the lives of its service users.
Being a trustee of a charity is not to be taken lightly but can be hugely rewarding to know that you are helping to ensure the future of an organisation that so many people benefit from and rely on.  Personally, being able to use my skills and experience for something so positive has been rewarding. It's also helped me to develop my skills as I'd not previously had a non-executive role
LinkAble is a fantastic organisation that has a hugely positive impact on many peoples' lives but to continue to do so, and to do even more, in the future is reliant on other's generosity of time.  If you choose to volunteer at LinkAble you'll meet some great people and help so many more."
