Mayhem has a new venue!
The moment we've all been waiting for.
Mayhem will be back in our exciting new venue, Fiery Bird, in just a few days!
We have been hunting for a long time to find a new home for Mayhem. Since the pandemic, many of Woking's venues have closed down. Having the Hilton as an interim venue allowed us to start the night up again, which was brilliant, but it wasn't designed to be a nightclub. So, we couldn't be more excited to return to a proper nightclub setting. Fiery Bird will make Mayhem much more like it used to be in the old days—which we are very excited about!
Bigger and better
We caught up with Mayhem DJs James Fieldus and Aaron Tatham to discuss the new venue and why October Mayhem will be a night to remember.
James (DJ DR Fieldus), who has been involved since the beginning of Mayhem, is thrilled with the new venue. He told us, "It's going to make Mayhem a lot more like it used to be. I'm excited". When asked what he enjoys about DJing at Mayhem, James said, "It's the buzz, the energy. I've been doing this for a long time and love the atmosphere. I can't wait for the next one!".
Aaron (DJ Azza) can't wait to get into the new venue because "It's a lot bigger, and we can make it feel like a rave!". Aaron told us he's looking forward to "Seeing everyone dancing and vibing to the tracks played".
For our community
We know how important Mayhem is to our community, which is why we have worked so hard to bring the night back after the pandemic. We asked Aaron and James why Mayhem is so important to the learning disability community. Aaron: "For me personally, Mayhem allows people like me to have a safe space for raving". Always looking to reach more clubbers, Aaron went on to say, "There are not many places that do these types of events, so we would like to collaborate with other organisations that do something similar so that more people can attend Mayhem". Agreeing with Aaron, James said, "Because there are not many of these out there, and it gives that exposure and happiness to the disability community".
A first for our new CEO
It's not just the DJs and clubbers who are excited for the next Mayhem. Our newly appointed CEO, Sue Stockman, also can't wait. "I am delighted to join LinkAble just as we have secured this new venue for Mayhem. I know mainstream club nights often have accessibility issues and can be intimidating for people with learning disabilities. That's why Mayhem is vital in offering our community a safe and supported place to enjoy a proper night out. I'm really looking forward to attending my first Mayhem!".
